How to Take "Scene" Photography

Most MySpace pages for scene kids show some samples of their photography. Here you can learn how to take those sort of photos yourself.

Get a camera, film or digital (obviously)

Look on Photobucket for some examples. Just go to www.photobucket.com and search "scene". These are all great examples. Notice what you like in pictures. Do not copy the persons poses but get ideas of what you like.

Go outside, to your room, or anywhere you can to go find something or take a picture or two of anything you're inspired to shoot. (Many scene kids take angled pictures of themselves)

Upload the photos to your computer and start examining.Find any things you don't like. Take note so you know what do right next time)

Only keep the photos that you think look good enought to upload to a profile of some sort.

Start editing the photos.Many popular photo editing software include photoshop, gent, picasa,etc. Use tools in those software to correct anything that needs editing. Remember your scene pictures are supposed to represent perfection.Smooth out blemishes,and use contrasting colors tool.

Upload the pictures to MySpace, Facebook, Buzznet, and any other website.

Tips

  • The most interesting photos are taken at unusual angles. Try looking up or down at the object.
  • Most photography has the subject in only a third of the frame. Usually on the left or right.
  • When taking pictures of yourself try different angles don't always be holding the camera
  • Try having a friend take different pictures of you in different angles
  • Be creative don't always do the same pose, SWITCH IT UP!
